Stay With Us

We have two spaces you can stay with us at Fernlea

Fernlea Cabins

Imagine… A weekend of unplugged bliss, relaxing to the rhythms of the countryside and experiencing living land to table and off grid.

If that sounds like the break you need, then we would love to have you come and stay with us at Fernlea.

We have two guest cabins, little Kiwi and Pukeko each is well equipped with a queen bed and all the comforts of home.

We may be in the country, but our stays are incredibly comfortable.

We cater to a maximum of 4 guests at a time because it’s all about connecting with you. Bookings can be made for either a couple sharing a room, or a single person.

We will happily share our knowledge of how we are living, land to table and off-grid, if you fancy a chat, or you may just want to relax in a quiet corner in the garden and immerse yourself in nature.

Typically we invite you to arrive Friday afternoon, settle in and explore, and then tuck into a scrumptious light supper. Enjoy two restful nights and glorious farm day experiences before its time to say fond farewells on Sunday, but only after indulging in a hearty farm breakfast.

Love Shack… Off-Grid Living

Off-grid living is intensely personal and filled with endless possibilities, dependent on where you live and your own personal philosophies and convictions.

If you have the desire to be more self-sufficient or find yourself dreaming of an off-grid life, then you may like to stay in our little ‘Love Shack’ to experience our DIY off grid option.

The Hobbit and I built the “Love Shack’ and stayed in it most weekends as we prepared to live in the country on a permanent basis. This transition phase, (living weekdays in the city and weekends in the country) I’m convinced that this made our move to living off-grid far smoother and more joyful than it would have been otherwise.

If you want to experience a night in the ‘Love Shack’ for fun, or to help you to understand what living off-grid involves, give us a call or book here.
